This might be the hardest part of wedding planning, cutting down guests. To lessen the burden on deciding who to invite, my fiancè and I made a questionnaire on whether the person should be included in our list or not.
1. Is he/she a family or immediate relative?
2. Did he/she become a big part of our lives?
---- This is a person who aren't related to us by blood but had a really big impact in our life. He/she might have helped us in certain ways or never left our side during our low moments. This is a person who we immediately thought of to be in our guest list without hesitation.
3. Is he/she our close friend?
---- To the point that he/she knows some of our secrets, likes and dislikes and we've spent a good amount of time in our friendship. BFF/barkada.
4. Did they put an effort to spend time with us?
---- For example, a certain person took time to bond with me alone, not during a family/friends gathering only. If I only see him/her during a gathering then he/she is probably a friend of a friend and not my friend.
5. Did he/she invite us on their wedding?
---- If the prospective guest is already married then the question will be: did they invite us? If they did not, they probably think we weren't on their A-list and most likely they aren't in ours too.
6. Do we have a constant communication with him/her?
---- If the person doesn't reply to most of my messages and will leave it seen zoned then it only means he/she doesn't want to invest little time in replying to my messages then he/she probably wouldn't waste time to attend my event.
7. Does he/she likes our Facebook posts?
---- You know he/she is part of your squad when they automatically like your posts even they don't see it yet because of the slow internet connection or free facebook data. Hahahaha!
8. We also had one rule for our friends who are attending: "No bringing of boyfriends and girlfriends".
We had a very strict questionnaire above as we only have 100 guests to be divided in groom and bride's side. We wouldn't want to get extra guests unless he/she is really close to our hearts.
There is also a Guest List Charts available in google and this maybe a favorite:
